So...I did not expect to come out of my first 17hols experience winning most remixes for the round, but. I truly am nothing more than a slave to the writing worms when they're just dangled in front of me! This really is the exact catalyst that I can blame for my newfound flash/micro/bingo? fic-writing addiction which is plaguing me even now. Curse you thank you lovely mods for making it happen!!! I had spent a not-insignificant amount of time in the past reading old rounds' fills so it was so exciting to be able to take part:')

I remember going into the fest being all Okay, let's take this easy and see what prompts are doable within my limited capabilities—and then I made the mistake of rereading this prompt once and then suddenly I had a devil possessing me to place my hands on the keyboard whilst Juno looped as an unholy backdrop to it all. 

I felt a little shy after uploading this considering it was my first fill but... I'm still pretty satisfied with it. Enough to subconsciously end up doing a semi-callback of sorts with touch for life in April, apparently!

This infrequency prompt... look. I am an unapologetically fanatical Network Fisheries enthusiast and I will keep trying to bring the best worms from kcarat's works into my writing whenever I can find the excuse to. And this was the perfect opportunity to do so! I just have a lot of love in my heart for morally dubious little guys who may or may not lean into mild cannibalism when I can find the excuse to shoehorn it in (general nonspecific statement).

Ah yes.. as soon as I considered the prompt more closely I could not let go of the inexorable jxw connection that my mind drew (I am a this man/어젯밤 enthusiast through and through) so. Indulged myself a lot. wonhan...... 

for you, my lord

I almost forgot about this one because, naturally, in my brain this prompt Belongs to the brilliant fe3h fills now but. I really got struck by the clearest vision of a Knight!WW very very devoted to Heir!DK and I think I did extract it from my brain onto the page as best I could so. I'm glad I did do it :) 

After my modest selection of fills are what are perhaps more important, my remixes... regarding which. I firstly have to say. I'm so glad 17hols has such a huge space for it because having this as a pathway/option really let my brain go haywire with possibilities and worms as I tracked all the new comment updates. This was honestly a really dangerous (? in the not actually serious losing my life to fic worms way) and addicting experience and I'd repeat it in a heartbeat!! 

As an interlude ment I think I need to also say that everyone's fills were so ??!! good. And I had a whole document of potential remix candidates to think about... and in the end these were the ones whose worms beat out the rest to sitting at the controls of my brain I guess..!

I'm really really normal about infrequency's original fill for my (!!) prompt and I just really fixated on the idea of skipping forward the tiniest bit in time. I like playing with nonhuman povs when I can squeeze them in... it lets me be weird with my writing in a very unapologetic way lol

kaia's fill hurt me and then I stewed in my melancholy feelings and wrote something for mingyu to match it. The vision for this were the pebbles @ a closed window metaphor + the whole second section of him being happy to get whatever he can out of jeonghan in response... because...yeah... .

limbo [ao3]

the original prompt was already on my potential fill list and then I saw history is for fools and. The Worm overcame me. 

as added context: back in the mid-late 10s I had both feet in the Homestuck fandom (amongst others) and The Eurydice Suite was a formative, Inception fusion fic that clearly never fully faded away from my subconscious years after reading it. In pullng up that link I just saw that it got fully revised a few years ago so I might even give it a nostalgic re-read... but Yeah while the details are hazy, there was a particular element of shenanigans happening down in Limbo (and probably also relating to how they got there in the first place) that I think definitely influenced how I approached this remix and especially the additional chapter I added on ao3... 

I really really love Inception AUs tbh, particularly when there is something menacing in the dream and you're stuck in there with it for whatever reason...

once again got hurt by a kaia fill and turned those feelings into a post-fill remix by making it worse with it Minghao's problem too... and really those comments just encouraged me thank you

kumquat's lovely art was so!! fun!! and I just wanted to bounce off of it by putting my viison of that dancer Vernon inside Rabbithole into some quick words... that's all there is to it!

ah yes my last remix was yet another 'got hurt by the original prompt and doubled down on it' kind of worm, which I realised at the end of it was my true 17hols kryptonite after all (which I think is in pretty stark contrast to whatever I hazarded a guess at going into it! How fun to learn something new about my writing/brainworm tastes, I guess)... 
there is uh, also a pattern of dogboy punching bagisms (which kaia did also point out) which. I feel mildly bad about. But it was such fertile ground so how could I resist? I did try and be brave and hold a mirror up to the fill to try think about a Jeonghan pov to it all to change it up a little... good job past me

honestly in the end I have to credit my most remixes achievement to the plethora of cheapdates fills... my #1 enabler...thank you.....
